The Pupil Deprivation Grant allows schools to put in place practical help to improve the educational attainment of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, who often face greater barriers to fulfilling their potential at school.

As a school, we aim to ensure that every pupil reaches their potential by balancing whole school strategies with targeted interventions to ensure that all learners entitled to free school meals benefit as individuals, whilst the whole school also develops its ability to support every learner to achieve their full potential.

We have integrated our PDG allocation into the School Improvement Plan, linking this to whole school strategy.

In 2020 Cynffig Comprehensive School were allocated a total Pupil Deprivation Grant of £173,650.
